Class Descriptions and Rules

Please note, we reserve the right to cancel a class if minimum quota of students have not been met. These cancellations are refundable.

In order to reserve your seat, full payment is required at the time of registration. Cash, checks and credit cards accepted. Seats are filled on a first come first serve basis.

All prices include materials unless otherwise mentioned.

IMPORTANT: For ALL class requiring the use of Lye (Sodium Hydroxide) we limit the age to 18 years or over. Also, long sleeved shirt, pants (jeans or other), shoes (no open toe, sandals, etc) and hair ties REQUIRED for class. Exposed skin MUST be covered! Goggles, aprons and gloves provided. If you prefer to use your own, you may bring them. Please note that we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone NOT dressed properly and class fees WILL NOT be refunded. NO EXCEPTIONS! Anyone can learn to work with lye safely, but do understand that this is a dangerous chemical and this is the reason we are so strict.

CLASSES:

Cold Process Soap Making 101
Learn how to make cold process soap! We will cover history, chemistry, safety, equipment, process, basic additives (color and fragrance). Advanced additives and techniques such as and color (layering, swirling) are covered in Advanced Cold Process Soap Making (101 is a prerequisite for taking Advanced). Every student will leave with their OWN bar of soap and their own re-usable MINI-MOLD!

Cold Proceess Soap Making 102
Learn how to make cold process soap! We will cover history, chemistry, safety, equipment, process, basic additives (color and fragrance). Advanced additives and techniques such as and color (layering, swirling) are covered in Cold Process Soap Making 102 (101 or 102 is a prerequisite for taking Advanced). Every student will leave with their OWN batch of soap (about 8 bars) and their own re-usable MOLD!

Cost for class: $85.00 per person, materials included. In order to reserve your seat, full payment is required at the time of registration. Cash, checks and credit cards accepted. Seats are filled on a first come first serve basis.

Advanced Cold Process Soap Making
Learn some advanced techniques of cold process soap! Advanced additives and techniques such as and color layering, and swirling are covered. Every student will leave with their OWN batch of soap (about 8 bars); don’t forget to bring your MOLD from the 101 class. Please note that 101 is a prerequisite for taking this class.

Cost for class: $85.00 per person, materials included.

Cold Process Soap Making with MILKS!
Fans of milk soaps know and love the lather and nourishment provided by these luxurious soaps. In this class, we will take the fear out of soaping with milks. Every student will leave with their OWN batch of soap (about 8 bars); don’t forget to bring your MOLD from the 101 class. Please note that 101 is a prerequisite for taking this class.

Cost for class: $90.00 per person.

Lotions and Creams
Learn to make your own creams and lotions from scratch. These are not your store-bought "one-size-fits-all," but high quality and very customizable lotions that will nourish and protect the skin. We will cover the chemistry of emulsions, common ingredients and additives. Students will go home with a 4oz lotion and 4oz cream with the scent of your choice.

Body and Lip Butters: Solid and Whipped
Learn to make extra nourishing and protecting butters! These butters are so rich, they are great for dry skin and problem areas. Learn to make whipped, solid massage bars and lip balms, and take home samples of each.

Sweet Sugar Scrubs
Sugar scrubs are the sweetest skin-loving product! Learn how to make sugar scrubs for dry skin, emulsified sugar scrub for oily skin, solid sugar cubes and lip scrubs. Various additives are also discussed. Students will go home with samples of all products. Great to keep or to give away as gifts!

All Things BATH!
This class is a must for lovers of all things bath! We will be covering the ever-popular bath fizzies (aka Bath Bombs), bath melts and milk baths. Why pay retail, when you can make and customize your own! Each student will leave with a sample (or more!) of each.

Cost for class: $60.00 per person

All things SALT!
Nothing detoxes and softens more naturally than salt. In this class, learn to re-create the healing properties of the sea: Salt Scrubs for dry skin, Solid salt scrubs for problem areas and aromatherapy bath salts. Each student will leave with a sample (or more!) of each.
